What are your favourite animals?

Wednesday April 9, 12:00AM

There's a huge range of animals out there, so be open-minded! You aren't limited to the confines of typical domestic animals such as dogs and cats.

Personally, though they aren't my favourite, I've always sort of wanted a ferret. They're quite smart, apparently. There's a few videos of them on YouTube play-fighting with kittens. It's funny to watch! (But the kittens always win, because they have longer legs)

I love all animals (except for poodles and other such irritating canine breeds), but my real favourites are dogs, cats and rats, primarily because they're all intelligent and loyal. I don't like dumb animals, like guinea pigs, very much.

There are a few common misconceptions about rats, coming to think of it; I might make another topic just about them!

Anyway, comment back with details about your favourite animal(s) and why you like them!

[The picture is a ferret in a box! It's not mine, I just found it.]

I must admit that I don't quite have a thing for toy dogs, that's not to say that I don't see them as still good dogs - just not my type.
Personally I am more the cattle dog type I think but i also am definitely a horselover . .. and an orca, tiger, snake lover. But I hold my horses and dogs above them all =p

BTW - that picture makes me wonder what ferret would taste like marinated in garlic and honey @_@

Schmoodles!

I'm aware that they are intelligent and can make quite good pets, but I refuse to harbour anything but hatred toward them simply for their stereotype! I can get away with that - it's because I'm ignorant, judgemental and a webmaster. =P

Kudos to you for refusing the fancy haircuts, though. If there's one thing that makes a poodle - or any animal, for that matter - worse, it's a stupid owner who thinks they share their sense of fashion (or lack thereof).

Not sure I can agree with your dislike for poodles Cameron. Given that you seem to like inteligent animals then you should know that these dogs are smart and loyal. You may have the same mis-conceptions that I had before we got one...the whole prissy poodle thing...I have a simple rule with out dog...no fancy haircuts! They also have different fur to that of other dogs so no malting and hence no smell which is another plus!
